I am a registered PhD Candidate in Religious Studies and my research examines Pentecostal engagement with politics during Ghana’s Fourth Republic (1992-present). It looks for the changing attitudes and practices among Pentecostals, notably in relation to the shift from a previously apolitical posture to one of increased political engagement during the period of the Fourth Republic. It also tease out the distinctive characteristics of Ghanaian Pentecostal engagement with politics and consider how this has been mediated within the pluralistic sphere. This thesis also examine the factors that shape Pentecostal engagements with politics and the diversities in the political theologies operating among different strands of Ghanaian Pentecostalism.
