Since 2017 I'm Assistant Professor in Anthropology at the Department of Cultures, Politics and Society at the University of Turin (Italy). I have been working on Pentecostalism in Africa (mainly Uganda) since 2006, when I started my PhD research on the development of the Pentecostal movement in Uganda, with a specific focus on the interaction between moral models proposed by the movement and the influence these exerted on healt policies in the country, especially concerning HIV/AIDS.

As a post-doctoral researcher (2013-2015) I focused on the presence of Congolese "refugee churches" in Kampala, analysing the role of religion in contexts of forced displacement.

My recent interests focus on the growth of deliverance camps in Uganda (a recent phenomenon, comparing to other African countries), on the intersection between the study of Pentecostalism, of everyday religion and of the anthropology of morality, to provide a less "institutional" perspective on the movement.
